This vise is a good example of Disston’s D3 Saw Filing Clamp. The jaws are 12.5″ long and it retains 85% of the japan finish. The built in table clamp will fit on a table 1 3/4″ thick.

This vise originally came with a saw filing guide that allowed the user to very accurately file fleam angles in addition to maintaining the proper rake angle. Unfortunately, these parts are always missing, except in rare examples. The good news is that this vise is the largest battle tank type vise that Disston made. Heavy and heavy duty, a great vise for long filing sessions.
